Casino Games – Twenty-One

Whether you are new to betting house gaming or a casino old-timer, blackjack is one of the simplest and most exciting games casinos have to share. The aim in chemin de fer is to best the dealer by getting a hand value as close to twenty-one as as you can and not going over. To play black jack, you need only a basic understanding of the game rules and a eagerness to experience excitement.

So how do you reach twenty one? In blackjack, the cards have values. Number cards two up to ten are counted at their printed number, while all face cards (King, Queen and Jack) are worth ten points. The ace card is a special card in blackjack: you make a decision whether it is worth one or 11 points. Since casino players are handed 2 cards to begin, if you are dealt an ace and a face card or 10,you’ve achieved twenty one-an immediate success, as long as the croupier doesn’t get twenty one as well. This twocard winning hand is called a "black jack"; hence the name of the game!

Casino game rules for black jack are essentially the same at all betting houses. After you are dealt your first 2 cards, your possibilities are to hit, hold, double down, split your hand into 2 hands with a second wager equal to the first, or occasionally surrender.

When you wager on twenty-one at a betting house, make sure to know which blackjack table to choose. Most casinos have color coded black jack tables according to the min wager the table accepts, typically three dollars, 5 dollars, $25 or $100. In any betting house, it’s a certainty the $3 and 5 dollar tables will be packed, but they’re fantastic for novices at casino games because all of the cards are distributed face-up, unlike the one-up, one-down method at higher tables. So the next time-or the initial time-you go to a casino, be certain to visit the black jack tables and aim for 21!
